The character creator is, unfortunately, not the best thing out there. The lighting isn't what you get in game, and as it turns out, your character has resting bitch face when running out in the world.
I'm not angry, I'm just thinking.
And the blush you thought looked like a natural glow actually looks like your character has eczema in cutscenes.
Or possibly she's been drinking.
This is after I fixed her face in the Black Emporium, because she was not looking so good before. I seem incapable of making her pretty in cutscenes. She looks fine in the character creator, and then BAM, resting bitch face and florid complexion.
So that is kind of a disappointment; if they are going to have angry eyebrows always, I think that should show in the character creator, you know? So you know what you are getting is resting bitch face.
I am super excited for the new expansion which will be released tomorrow. Here is the preview:
I CANNOT CONTAIN MY GLEE.
And can we talk about the rare occurrence of a game trailer using the female protagonist? I don't think I have seen any other major game with the option of gender choose to use the female version of the protagonist. Even Mass Effect, where arguably FemShep had a better voice actor, used the male protag. I love it.
I had made an elf mage inquisitor that I was playing through, but I decided to finish up a proper endgame file for this, since it takes place two years after the end of the game.
But in the meantime, have some screenshots.
Sit where, game glitch?!
We at the Inquisition are an equal opportunity employer. No legs? No problem!
There is a questline about getting a character a smutty book. This is its cover.
Just practicing my balancing on the back of chairs.
Sometimes it takes a while for details to load, which means I end up with people floating in the air.
This is for Em: there is an addon that helps with the creepy dead Cullen eyes. Also, I seem to have changed his scar somewhere along the line, I think with the one that changed his stubble?
The add-on is available here and it is pretty easy to install, and it makes a huge difference in cutscenes!
This is the most dramatic death pose.
The added new outfits, and the flavour text for the original beige pyjamas made me laugh.
My new outfit! So much better.
My armour looked silver in the armour tinting thing, but it seems to suffer from the same poor lighting as the character creator, since this is definitely white.
Banana on a stick. I am looking for the splinters to make this, because my Inquisitor needs it in her life.
Just standing on top of the stables, as one does.
This is Ser. Just Ser. Not Ser someone. Just Ser.
I found these cheese wheels with tiny men on them in the Western Approach, and I have no idea what they are supposed to be, other than terrifying.
Shameless flattery! I will take it.
I don't know what these huge statues are for, but I like them.
OMG I LOVE this game! Well, the entire series really. I am looking forward to Trespasser so much. Sadly I may have to wait on it a little, so staying off tumblr and all other places that might spoil it for me *lol*
I will have to look into the eye add-on! I have the one that changed his stubble (and scar). I did like his scar at the lip though, and managed to find a version of it that kept it. (Still gave him the cheek one as well though.)
I was really happy to see a female protagonist in the trailer as well. I'm having such high hopes for that DLC. You've got some explaining to do, Solas!!!
As a side note, I wonder if there will be some kind of resolution for female elves who romanced him. (I haven't finished my elf playthrough, so I won't really know for some time. Will have to do the DLC on my human mage since it's the only finished one.)
I found an add-on that gets rid of Blackwall's beard. I totally installed that. I need one that gets rid of Cullen's stubble! NO FACIAL HAIR FOR ANYONE add-on, that is what I need in my life. :P
Oh, yes, I have been completely off any internet related thing that might spoil me because SO MUCH EXCITEMENT.
I didn't really warm up to Solas (I hear he is more tolerable if you romance him), so I am not as angry as a lot of people.
I had plans to romance him on my elf when I do that playthrough. But I might need a "romance-all" addon cause how can one resist Cullen? I mean, honestly.
I need to get my hands on that DLC! I got the other two for my birthday so need to rush through them now. I know I don't have to do them in order, but I just... want to *lol*
And I'm not really angry with Solas. I find the whole story around him quite intriguing. Especially the little cut-scene after you finished the playthrough. I NEED THIS DLC NOW!
Oh yeah, I never managed to romance Blackwall because the beard throws me off. Not sure I could anyway cause every playthrough I seem to end up talking to Cullen *sigh* I'm useless. I don't mind Cullen's stubble though. I always liked that scruffy look though. I can't help myself *lol*
Too much stubble for me! That is why I had the add on for less stubble on him. I don't mind a little, but he has too much for me.
I tried to get the DLC to work last night, but it would not play well with my mods, so I disabled them until it stopped freezing on the initial loading scene. I didn't actually get it working until about 10:30! And then I just wanted to play through the early bit, and then it started crashing when I started a conversation with someone. It was frustrating. So more time to avoid the internet today. :P
I tried logging onto Tumblr cause I was bored and wanted to see if there were any more nice Cullen or Alistair art (because why not?)... But I had to close it down almost immediately. Everyone is writing about it /cry
I know they tag it with spoilers, but honestly I'm such a noob I have no idea how to filter it *lol*
I managed to play a bit more yesterday! When I first started the fighting part, my inquisitor kept getting one-shot by everything, and I couldn't figure out why - she is a warrior, and she is usually pretty tanky!
Then, just before finishing this one area, I realized that unlike the rest of the game, she didn't automatically have her armour on. I was playing without armour. Oops.
I actually game across a spoiler for the expansion on the Mass Effect subreddit! I was mad, but thankfully it was about a thing I already knew, but I was still like "wtf, dude, spoilers."
Let me know if you have loading or crashing issues, I needed to do a few fixes before the game would work for me, so I might be able to help!
