Are really fucking terrible.
This is a SMALL sample. This does not include the many, many messages that are just "what's up" or "nice pics." Or, in one case, just a smiley face.
But I had to share, so you can all commiserate with me, since I know at least one of my dedicated readers is probably getting the same damn nonsense.
Also, I am super sad, I just went skimmed through ones I had from before I last deactivated it, and I got a message on the day I deactivated it last time from a guy who is like 100% everything I like, a scientist athletic blonde tall Bioware fan BUT NOW HE MOVED TO THE USA DAMNIT. Aaaah stupid me.

Oh wow.. Those samples really doesn't do much for the male users of dating sites, do they? This is why there are blogs/twitters/instagrams dedicated to awful dating site messages!!
ReplyDeleteThe good guys are on there though! They're just hard to find among all the rabble. My sister met her boyfriend through a dating site, and they've been together 2,5 years now. It does require some dedication though, since you have to sift through a lot of that crap that you've shown here!
I never did understand how some of the guys think. Do they really think women respond to some of that stuff?
I don't even know! I am constantly surprised at the sheer volume of terrible messages. Like, I totally get that it sucks crafting good messages based on something in a profile and getting no response. I get that. But is any response better than none? Even a negative one?
DeleteAnd so many guys seem to think "hey what's up" is a good opener. It's not! You don't need multiple paragraphs (in fact, too much is as bad as too little), but at least mention something in the profile that isn't my pictures.
Nothing is as irritating to me as the messages that only tell me how cute/hot/beautiful/WTFever bullshit that proves they are only looking at my pictures.
