I made it.
I was kind of worried because I've never made candy before, but I had a candy thermometer that I had taken from my mom's (she didn't want it anymore), but it actually turned out really well.
I doubled the batch using this recipe here.
The idea was that the friends who came over to do a bunch of baking (I have the nicest kitchen) would take some to give away, too, but they only took a small amount of fudge. So I am left with a TON of it.
It is really delicious, it tastes like concentrated eggnog with a hint of rum (because we added a shot of rum at the end, just for the flavour and not to make it alcoholic obviously).
So who wants some eggnog fudge? Haha. I've already got a list of people who are getting it, and I'll be sending it off on Tuesday (as I work Monday and the post office won't actually send it on Sunday). It's currently living in my freezer so it lasts.
But if you like eggnog and you like fudge, I'd definitely recommend this recipe.
I don't know if I've ever tried eggnog! It's not something that's very common over here. We have something else, called "glögg", which is like a warm wine type thing, with spices.
