Sherlock

Is such a good show. If you haven't watched it yet, you should. Go! Watch it on Netflix!

But there is no air date for the next season yet. It's currently in post-production (so editing? I guess?), and I read somewhere that an air date can't be announced in the UK until the series is finished.

But what I will always think is kind of funny is that Martin Freeman, who plays Bilbo, is also Dr. John Watson. And Benedict Cumberbatch, who voices Smaug, is also Sherlock Holmes in the series. I think the sort of dynamic between Bilbo and Smaug will be quite different than that between Dr Watson and Holmes.

The guy who's written a bunch of the more recent Doctor Who stuff (Moffatt) is also one of the guys who created the Sherlock series. And I have to state a personal preference for him as a Sherlock writer. His episodes in Doctor Who tend to be my least favourite, and the seasons of Doctor Who he's been in charge of have been the weirder ones that are less enjoyable than other producers. I think his brand of whatever-you'd-call-it fits in better with the atmosphere of Sherlock than it does with Doctor Who.

  1. Ooh cool, I have been meaning to get into Sherlock and I've heard it is indeed rather good.

Have you watched Elementary? I believe it is the Americans trying to rip-off the UK version of Sherlock (like they always do...) but I have to say it is pretty much one of my favourite TV shows ever now :) However, I am yet to watch Sherlock, so perhaps I should save my judgement till then!

    1. I watched the first episode of Elementary, and it was decent.
