The Sims 3

This won't be a very exciting post, I just want to show off my house.

(Aside: has anyone else ever made a Sim of a person, had a falling out with them while not playing the game for a while, played the game, and been tempted to kill off that person's Sim? I haven't actually done it, because I feel real-life guilty at the thought of killing someone's avatar. Like, what if it's bad real life karma? What if they end up dying in a tragic stove fire accident because I stuck their Sim in a room with a stove and no door? I couldn't live with myself. I realize this is pretty much the most ridiculous way of feeling ever, but there you go.)

So, my house!
It has a tower!

It's surrounded by a moat, too.

The second floor.

The ground floor.

The third floor of the tower.

Top of the tower!

There's a skeleton maid!

Typical guy, watching the football.

The cat and skeleton maid don't get along.

This zombie was really upset it couldn't get into the house. It kept making angry noises at the door and doing the Sims "wtf dude" hand wave.

This fairy Sim brought his kid to the club! That seems extremely irresponsible.

Fairy Sim!
I don't have a screenshot of it, but the guy Sim is a witch and his lifetime wish is to be a Zombie Master, and the fairy witch has a lifetime wish of being the Cat Herder. It's pretty ridiculous.

  1. Your Sims game is fancier than my Sims game.

    1. Expansion packs! Although my spiral stairs are a download from a website dedicated to mods. You can make your basic game almost as fancy with downloadable, user-created content. No fairies/witches/werewolves without the expansion pack, though.

  2. I've rarely played Sims, because I don't seem to have the patience. Your hours looks really awesome though!

When I play I usually spend loads of time creating a house, but then when I start to actually play I get bored and stop.

Also, I'm awful at it. First time I ever played I made the dad cook, and he set the house on fire and killed off a neighbor. His urn was left on the kitchen floor and each time any of my Sims would walk past it, they'd cry.. so they were perpetually sad. Not a good start!

    1. Haha, yeah. I walk away from the game a lot, since they have free will. Although they refuse to use to toilet without being told...

You just have to have a plan for how to make their life goals come about. I made my zombie master Sim practice until he found out how to make zombies, and I keep buying cats for the Cat Herder Sim. They can also travel, where there are puzzles and things if I get too bored.

  3. Mine doesn't have pets or travel puzzles, but I play almost exclusively just to build the houses. I do like letting them go to social places and seeing how they interact with a whole bunch of people on their own, though. But I always do have to tell them to use the bathroom. Haha.
